Cold on the outside; Empty on the inside
This feeling is something that cannot be beaten
In all my attempts at overcoming it I have fallen
Its power is too overwhelming for one to conquer

Lost in this darkness; Overcome with fear and pain
My only wish is to have someone here to rid me of it
Someone here to hold me tightly and whisper in my ear
"Everything will be ok, I'm here now"
Only they aren’t here, nor are they coming

Oh how I long to be rid of this feeling
But onward I must tread with its weight upon my back
Unable to be rid of this hurt and pain
For loneliness knows no company...

I wrote this when I got extremely lonely one night. I spent the two days before it alone. Even with all the people around you on a college campus you can still feel it. That's exactly how I felt.

Edit: I eventually extended this to make it 3 stanzas and never posted the update until now. Hopefully those of you that favorite it will like the updated version just as much as the original.

thanks, I didn't know how connected I actually was until it was finished. Even my friends all said they felt it when they read it. ^^;

Exactly. I have been on college campus surrounded full of people and just felt so lonely. And the fact that nobody sees that your not feeling your best and doesn't ask how your are makes you feel worse. :( xx

I luv this part because wen u r feeln lonely its xactly wot u wnt but den u feel more lonely and insecure because you know no one can or will save you!! its reli sad wen ur in a big crowd but you feel invisible!!!
